25th & Vaughn | Portland, OR

The 25th & Vaughn project is a seven-story mass timber building in Northwest Portland delivering 72 new affordable studio apartments and approximately 1,500 square feet of ground-floor commercial space. Ridge Line Design provided civil engineering services for the project, including PBOT permitting and coordination, ADA- and PROWAG-compliant pedestrian facilities, a new pedestrian crossing, traffic signal permitting, and public frontage improvements along the site.

Developed by Carbon Group and designed by Guna Collaborative, 25th & Vaughn maximizes an underused 8,326-square-foot infill site, creating affordable housing within walking distance of transit, stores, schools, and parks. Thoughtfully designed frontage and right-of-way improvements support a safe, accessible, pedestrian-friendly streetscape.

It's a strong example of how coordinated civil engineering, permitting, and public right-of-way improvements help affordable mixed-use development succeed in Oregon's urban infill environment.
